The Association Française d’Ingénierie Système (AFIS) has been created in 1998 by 13 companies willing to share experiences and know-how, willing to optimize and formalise their engineering practices.
Nowadays, AFIS is composed of around 1000 individual members (System Engineers, System Architects, retired System Engineers, Student and Doctors) and around 50 members (large corporation, Small and Medium Enterprises, University and Research Centers).
The AFIS fullfill several missions, as detailed hereafter.
The AFIS is an affiliate member of International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) and, according to a MOU signed in 1999, its offical representative in France.
The AFIS is the French Chapter of INCOSE.

To encourage and ensure Systems Engineering development and usage to public and private enterprises as well as governmental agencies.
To promote Systems Engineering training to all the educational communities : students, teachers, training organizations, etc.

NOTE
The AFIS in not a consulting company. AFIS does not sell trainings on Systems Engineering. A good way to learn about System Engineering is to join AFIS, participating to working groups and discuss with peers. In the same way, the AFIS legally cannot deploy directly System Engineering into private compagnies.
